Resolving Heater Circuit Breaker Trips and Contactors Switching Issues
Guidance on diagnosing and fixing circuit breaker trips and contactor switching issues in Thermalec heaters.
If the heater circuit breaker trips frequently, first check if the safety thermostat's red reset button has popped out. Reset it and observe if it trips again; repeated trips often indicate insufficient water flow or air trapped in the system. Additionally, inspect individual heating elements for insulation resistance faults. If the supply's RCD trips, verify other equipment isn't causing the fault, then test heating elements for insulation resistance. For MCB trips, ensure the breaker is correctly rated as per specifications. Frequent contactor switching every few minutes typically signals incorrect water flow direction; verify and correct the flow to prevent rapid cycling. Addressing these electrical and flow-related issues promptly helps maintain safe and reliable heater operation.
